BREAK YOUR STRAIGHT a project by Emma Caulfield

BREAK YOUR STRAIGHT is a new short film that is being put together by writer/producer Dustin Brooks, actor/producer Mark Leslie Ford, director Tyler Glodt and actress/producer Emma Caulfield.

Break Your Straight tackles the subject of a parallel world that is not heterosexual friendly in a dark but comedic way.

"B.Y.S follows our lead DAVID, as he attempts to navigate a dark and mysterious camp intended to change his sexuality. Set in a parallel universe where the sexual bias is in favor of homosexuals, heterosexual males find themselves facing tough decisions."

"In making Break Your Straight, we are faced with executing a narrative that could offend or turn people off. Though we as a group have come far in over coming our prejudice toward minority groups, or those deemed as “other”, we still face barriers when it comes to alternative sexual identity and whom we choose to love."

THE KICKSTARTER:
The Break Your Straight team has launched a kickstarter and they have already met their initial goal of $12,000 but they still need your help to achieve a stretch goal of $16,000 in order to make the film the best that it can be. BLOOD KISS, a film by Michael Reaves. Starring Amber Benson and Neil Gaiman

Michael Reaves, Neil Gaiman and Amber Benson.
What do these people have in common besides being super talented? They are involved in a new project that is sure to be amazing. Let me begin by giving you a little background info on these folks and then I will tell you why I'm excited about this and how you can help out.

BLOOD KISS is a new film that was written by Michael Reaves. Michael is a writer and producer who has worked on numerous projects including Disney's Gargoyles, Twilight Zone, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Batman: The Animated series and so much more.

Neil Gaiman is an author who has worked on various comic books, novels, short fiction and graphic novels. Some of his work includes Coraline, Stardust and The Graveyard Book for which he won two awards.

Amber Benson is an actress, writer, producer and director. She is best know for her role of Tara Maclay on  Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Amber wrote the five book Calliope Reaper-Jones series for Ace/Roc. She co-directed the feature film Drones and has also directed the BBC animated series Ghosts Of Albion. Amber has appeared in numerous films and has made guest appearances in various TV shows including Supernatural and Ringer. She has also written, produced, directed and starred in two of her very own films, Chance and Lovers, Liars and Lunatics.

I also want to take a moment and mention Tom Mandrake. Tom is an illustrator who has worked on such titles as Batman, Wolverine and 30 Days Of Night. Tom will be doing the graphic novel for BLOOD KISS.

What is BLOOD KISS about?

First off this is not some movie about some sparkly vampires or anything of that sort. BLOOD KISS will be a noir vampire film set in 1940's Hollywood. This is a completely new take on your typical vampire movie.

Neil Gaiman will be making his acting debut playing the character Julian Cross who is an eccentric Hollywood director. The one thing that I am most excited about in this film is that not only will Amber Benson be starring opposite Neil but she will be singing. For you Amber fans out there you know what an amazing singing voice she has. Amber will be playing a seductive jazz singer named Ruby Day. If you're as excited about this as I am then you know that we cannot wait to see this.

Now, onto the Kickstarter.

BLOOD KISS has managed to raise their initial goal of $50,000 in less than two weeks. With only a week left in the campaign they are hoping to reach out to more fans in order to help them reach their stretch goals. So come on people, get on board and as my friend puts it "be a blood donor"

Did I forget to mention that Whoopi Goldberg is a supporter? Well she is.
"Can't wait to see....feel the blood kiss. - Whoopie Goldberg"

In addition to your support you will also be receiving some pretty kick ass rewards including DVD's, posters, autographed merchandise, T-Shirts and more. You can even pick up a copy of Tom Mandrake's graphic novel as an add on.
